Southwest to probe pilot’s use of anti-Biden insult during flight -Breaking

(Reuters) – Southwest Airlines (NYSE) said Sunday that it was investigating an incident where a pilot allegedly said, “Let’s Go Brandon”, a phrase intended to insult U.S. President Joe Biden over the intercom on a flight.

Southwest posted a statement to its official Twitter account (NYSE:). It stated that it was conducting an “internal investigation” into the incident and will “resolve the matter directly with all employees involved.”

According to the Associated Press initially, this incident took place on Friday during a Southwest flight that flew from Houston to Albuquerque. According to the Associated press, the pilot allegedly stated “Let’s Go Brandon” in his comments to passengers. The incident drew audible gasps.

This phrase became an anti-Biden meme after a NASCAR race won earlier in the month by Brandon Brown. Brown was being interviewed after the race by a conservative crowd who chanted, “F–k Joe biden!” Interviewer mistakenly thought the chant meant “Let’s Go Brandon,” which has been used as a metaphor ever since.

The company stated in Sunday’s statement that “Southwest does NOT condone employees sharing personal political opinions while at work,” and added that the views of the pilot shouldn’t be considered representative.

Some Republican lawmakers have unapologetically adopted the phrase to be a rallying call. U.S. Ted Cruz, U.S. The phrase was worn by Jeff Duncan, a U.S. representative from South Carolina.

The company stated that it does not accept any behaviour encouraging divisiveness.
