LONDON, (Reuters) – Britain warned France Monday that it would not allow France to continue a row over fish within 48 hours. Otherwise it could face legal consequences under the Brexit trade agreement.

Sky spoke to Liz Truss, Foreign Secretary, who said that “the French have made totally unreasonable threats to our fishing industries, including the Channel Islands”, and she asked them to either withdraw their threats or use the mechanism of the EU’s trade agreement to take action.”

“The French behaved in an unfair manner. The terms of the trade deals don’t allow for it. You have the right to sue someone for acting unfairly under a trade agreement and get compensatory actions. If the French refuse to back down, we’ll do it.
