ON BOARD AIR FORCE ONE – UN COP26 Climate Summit isn’t the end of the race for climate change mitigation, Jake Sullivan, U.S. national defense adviser, said Monday. He added that the world should continue to work on this problem throughout the next decade.

Prince Charles, the British Prince, told world leaders Sunday that COP26 was “the last chance saloon” to stop climate change. Nations are experiencing increased heatwaves as well as wildfires and floods.

Sullivan stated to journalists that the Glasgow summit, which was held before President Joe Biden arrived in Glasgow on Air Force One.

He said, “It’s also important for us to recognize that the work will have to continue even after everybody goes home from Glasgow.”

It is impossible to stop making progress, or building momentum in this area. But it’s not over.

Sullivan also called on China, the world’s biggest emitter of greenhouse gases, to do more to tackle climate change.

We are fulfilling our part of the bargain at COP. “The fact that China doesn’t hasten to admit it is not something they can easily point at us,” he stated.

“They’re a large country. They have a lot to offer and are well equipped to fulfill their obligations. It is up to them.
