The case of U.S. teenage gunman Kyle Rittenhouse -Breaking

KENOSHA WIS. (Reuters). Here’s a timeline that traces the case of Kyle Rittenhouse. A U.S. teenager was accused of killing two people and injuring a further one with a military style rifle last year during protests in Kenosha.
August 23, 2020: A Kenosha police officer responds to a domestic disturbance and shoots Jacob Blake seven shots at close range. This paralyzes the Black man, setting off protests.
August 25, 2020: As Kenosha prepares for another night of demonstrations, Rittenhouse (17 years old) grabs his rifle and joins the ranks of other armed men in the streets. Rittenhouse said he was called to protect a used-car dealer. Rittenhouse shoots Joseph Rosenbaum at midnight. According to video evidence, Rosenbaum may have tried to grab Rittenhouse’s rifle and chased Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse fires at Anthony Huber (26) who was attempting to grab his rifle and hurls him with a skateboard. He also shoots Gaige Grosskreutz (27), in the arm. Grosskreutz survived, as he was carrying a gun at the time.
August 27-28th, 2020: Rittenhouse is charged by the Kenosha County district attorney with six felonies, including intentional and reckless homicides. Rittenhouse surrendered on August 26 and is currently being held in Illinois. Lin Wood, an Atlanta attorney claims video evidence will vindicate Rittenhouse and show that he acted in self defense. Wood solicits donations from a non profit and collects almost $2 million in a matter of months. Wood portrays Rittenhouse, along with another lawyer as a patriot. They also tie Rittenhouse to gun rights.
Oct. 30, 2020 Rittenhouse extradited to Wisconsin
Nov. 20, 2020- John Pierce is released as Rittenhouse’s attorney. He posts $2 million cash bail. Rittenhouse is freed.
January 5, 2021: Kenosha County District attorney Michael Graveley found that Rusten Sheskey shot Blake in self defense. Graveley stated that Blake had been armed with knives and was resisting arrest. Rittenhouse also pleaded guilty to none of the charges in video testimony at Kenosha County Circuit Court.
Nov. 1, 2021, the Rittenhouse trial starts with jury selection.
