U.S. charges passenger with assaulting American Airlines flight attendant -Breaking

(Reuters) – A 20-year old Californian man was charged Monday by U.S. prosecutors with assaulting a flight attendant aboard an American Airlines flight (NASDAQ:) that diverted on Oct. 27, 2018.

After the assault, the flight from New York to Santa Ana (California) made an emergency landing at Denver. U.S. Attorney’s Office Denver stated that Brian Hsu (of Irvine, California) was also charged for interference with a flight crew. A preliminary appearance is planned in California by Hsu on Monday.

U.S. airlines report a record-breaking number of violent incidents, while the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has promised a “zero tolerance” approach.
