U.S. Senate sets Wednesday procedural vote on election reform bill -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate will vote Wednesday on legislation restoring the requirements that were struck down in 2013 by the U.S. Supreme Court. These required certain counties and states to receive federal approval before they could redraw their voting districts. This was stated Monday by Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader.

Republicans will likely block this move by arguing that federal government should not interfere with state-run electoral activities.
