FRANKFURT, Reuters – Volkswagen (DE) Chief Executive Markus Duesmann stated that the premium vehicle maker Audi anticipates tight chip supply levels at least through summer 2022. This was according to Augsburger Allgemeine.

Duesmann was also quoted saying, “We hope to reach a stabilisation regarding production and chip delivery at the end the first half 2022.”

Volkswagen reduced its delivery outlook, lowered sales expectations, and warned about job cuts. A shortage of computers chips led Europe’s biggest carmaker to post a lower than expected operating profit in the third quarter.

Last month, Duesmann said that Audi needed to manage the continual shortage of auto chip chips.
