NEW YORK (Reuters) – Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:), promoted on Wednesday 643 individuals to managing director. The bank’s second-highest rank, behind partner, includes a larger proportion of women, Black, Asian, Latino and Latino employees.
Goldman Bank has some of the highest-profile and most specific goals. It requires that Black and Latino professionals are interviewed for and employed to fill positions at the bank. For any job opening in senior positions, the bank interviews two people from different backgrounds.
The bank stated that 33% of the people promoted by it were women in an email to all its customers and on its website. This is compared to 29% for 2019.
Up from 26% in 2019, 28 percent were Asian. 5 percent of the promoted people were Black, which is compared to 4 % in 2019 and 5% Hispanic.
33% of respondents were LGBTQ+, as compared to 2% for 2019.
This was also due to Goldman’s increased presence at locations other than major financial centers such as Dallas, Salt Lake City and Bengaluru.
The promotion was in strategic locations, which is twice as many in 2019 with 72 of the promotions.
