Tesla recalling nearly 12,000 U.S. vehicles over software communication error -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) is recalling approximately 12,000 U.S. cars sold between 2017 and 2018. A communication error could have resulted in a false forward crash warning, or unintentional activation of the auto emergency braking system. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Tuesday.

California-based automaker, California Automaker, stated the recall of 11704 Model S, SX, 3 and Model Z vehicles resulted from a software update that was released on October 23rd to vehicles belonging to its restricted early access Full Self Driving (Beta).

Tesla received reports from customers about false forward collision warnings, automatic emergency brake events, and other issues the next day. This prompted a company investigation and the release of a new software version to fix the problem.
