Britain’s Sunak pledges to ‘rewire’ global finance system for net zero -Breaking

GLASGOW, (Reuters) – Rishi Sunak, the British finance minister, pledged Wednesday that he would “rewire” global finance systems to net zero. London also committed 100 million pounds ($136.19 millions) to climate finance.

He presented Britain’s five-year strategy to UN COP26 climate summit. He stated that, in addition the 100 million British Pounds, London would support a new capital markets system to issue billions worth of green bonds.

He said, “Six years ago Paris set that goal. Today in Glasgow we have the funding we need to achieve it.”
