Investing.com – Dick’s Sporting stock (NYSE:) climbed more than 8% Wednesday as the sporting goods retailer strengthened its ties with Nike (NYSE: ) to share your physical and digital property.

Nike rose over 2%

Dick’s Sporting and Nike will integrate their loyalty programs to enable linking Nike’s loyalty program to Dick’s membership offering. This will allow customers to shop for exclusive Nike shoes and apparel on Dick’s website and through its mobile app.

As wholesalers of clothing, footwear and accessories begin to reduce or eliminate their dependence on wholesale partners, the ties are becoming more tense. Many manufacturers are now selling directly to consumers via digital channels. Manufacturers can also build stronger relationships with their customers, learn their needs and tailor their products accordingly.

Nike Direct’s revenue grew by 30% in the fiscal year 2021. The growth was driven by 60% of digital sales. Total revenue increased 10%, while wholesale revenue rose by 10%.
