Felicia Moore advances to runoff election in Atlanta mayoral contest -Breaking

(Reuters). Despite Felicia Moore being elected Atlanta’s mayoral nominee, she is now in a runoff election for Nov. 30. It remains to be known if her opponent will be Andre Dickens or former Mayor Kasim Reid, CBS46 TV project.

Moore and Reed support the hiring of more officers by police to counter rising violent crime in a campaign that is dominated by public safety.

Moore has attacked Reed in a Federal Corruption Investigation that marred Reed’s tenure and ensnared many members of his Administration. Reed has not been charged but maintains that he is innocent.

It contained 14 names. The state law requires that the two top candidates go to the runoff elections on November 30. If a candidate has not received more than 50%, they will be disqualified.

Keisha Lance bottoms unexpectedly resigned as Mayor and will be succeeded by the winner.
