Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index falling 0.43% and NSE losing 0.33%.

These were the best performers of the session Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NSS:) rose by 4.07% to close at 1889.50. During this time, Grasim Industries Ltd (NS.:) increased 2.38% (41.50 points) to finish at 1785.55. UPL Ltd. (NS.:) saw a 2.33% increase or 16.75 point gain to 737.05 by late trade.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., (NS:) was the worst performer of the session. It fell by 3.37% or 27.45 point to close at 787.95. IndusInd Bank Ltd., NS:: fell 2.85% (or 34.60 points) to close at 1177.95 Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS 🙂 fell 2.08% to 699.10.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.99% to 1888.65, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.22% to settle at 7880.95 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which gained 1.84% to close at 3162.95.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.27 to 788.00 late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (“BO:”) which dropped 2.79% to settle in 1178.35, and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. [BO:] which declined 1.97% towards 2036.30 by the close.

On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 950-782, 54 ending unchanged, and on the Bombay Stock Exchange 1595 and 1524 fell, respectively, and 150 finished unchanged.

Shares in Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.07% or 73.85 to 1889.50. Shares in Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.99% or 72.45 to 1888.65.

USD/INR declined 0.30%, to 74.465. EUR/INR dropped 0.17%, to 86.3240.

At 94.017, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.07%.
