Swiss banks expect market access deal with Britain in 2022

ZURICH, (Reuters) – The Swiss head of the banking lobby anticipates that his country will strike a deal next year with Britain to allow cross-border financial transactions. He spoke to the NZZ newspaper on Wednesday in an interview.

The agreement for market access to banks by both countries is being negotiated by the Swiss Bankers Association, Marcel Rohner. It recognizes the regulatory systems of each country without making them fully harmonised.

Rohner stated that “I anticipate an agreement with Great Britain regarding market access in 2022.”
