Investing.com Duke Energy (NYSE:) Thursday’s third quarter report showed that revenue fell below expectations and that analysts had forecasts for it exceedingly.
Duke Energy posted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.88 on $6.95B in revenue. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $1.8 for revenue $7.32B.
Duke Energy shares rose 11% over the beginning of this year but are down 5.39% from August 16’s 52 week high $108.38. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is up 24.08% from the start of the year.

Duke Energy reports on NextEra Energy’s earnings beat on October 20th, reporting EPS $0.75 per share on revenue $4.37B. This compares to NextEra Energy’s forecasts of EPS $0.716 for revenue $5.44B.
Southern beat all expectations with a third quarter EPS at $1.23 on $6.24B in revenue, as opposed to the forecast of EPS at $1.22 for $6.13B.
