A hearing regarding the Covid-19 pandemic is scheduled for Thursday by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci is also the director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He will be joined by Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Janet Woodcock (acting commissioner of Food and Drug Administration) and Dawn O’Connell (Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Respond at the United States Department of Health and Human Services), are also scheduled to speak.

Two days ago, U.S. officials in the health field cleared for this meeting the distribution of doses of the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 5 to 11. According to the White House, up to 28 million children in the United States are eligible for vaccination.
