Japan to provide $880 cash payout to minors as part of stimulus -Yomiuri -Breaking

TOKYO (Reuters] – As part of an economic stimulus package, Japan’s government has agreed to give a cash payment of 100,000 yen (878.73 dollars) to all children.

According to the newspaper, this payout would be available for all minors under 18 years old regardless of income. It will cost approximately 2 trillion yen.

Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan has pledged to put together a large-scale stimulus package by month’s end. He hopes to get through parliament an additional budget before the year ends.

He stated that funding to recover from the pandemic and revive domestic tourism would be a key component of the expenditure.
