(Bloomberg), Women in childbearing age have returned to the U.S. workforce. There has been a modest improvement after September’s decline.

Labor Department data from Friday revealed that participation among prime-age women workers aged 25 to 54 increased slightly in October. The situation was similar for males of the same age.

This small rise could signal a possible return to normalcy that economists had predicted would occur in September when children returned to school. The pandemic has impacted women with children particularly, as closures of schools and lack of care have made it difficult for them to get work.

The return of women workers seems uneven across race groups. Black women who are over twenty years old were less active than Hispanic and White women.
