Ripple Will Challenge Ethereum’s NFT Dominance Says, David Schwartz- Ripple’s CTO, David Schwartz talks about Ripple’s emergence into the NFT market.
- According to him, he is prepared to compete in the NFT market.
- Ripple now allows people to create NFTs using the XRP Ledger.
It is clear that the crypto sphere has witnessed many changes in 2021. NFTs were the biggest change. NFTs, which are non-fungible tokens, were popularized and accepted instantly by many. Digital art technology is still in its infancy. Regardless, many who did not jump on the bandwagon are now turning towards NFTs — one of which is Ripple (XRP).
Ripple’s CTO, David Schwartz says Ripple is ready to step up and thrive in the already Ethereum blockchain-dominated industry. Ripple doesn’t seem to have lost much of its NFT market share, with Ethereum accounting for 97% according to some reports.
Ripple invested recently in Mintable, an NFT marketplace to show that they are committed towards these goals. It will allow the mintable app and the XRP Ledger to merge to enable creators to quickly and securely sell their NFTs. In the same spirit, Ripple also launched a $250 million creators fund to advance innovation in tokenization, notably — non-fungible tokens.
Schwartz stated that Ripple was a bit late for the NFT market, but they have better scaling, lower cost and faster speeds than Ethereum.
David Schwartz also stated that they are pushing for CBDCs. If achieved, all financial institutions around the globe will be able settle fiat currencies in seconds. Ripple has also been working to develop federated sides chains, which will enable assets to move freely among blockchains.
