Investing.com – Optimism regarding the economy rose to a near new record with only a quarter of an hour left of the trading session. It boosted shares of companies that will benefit from federal investments of $1 trillion in building and energy projects.
The infrastructure bill, which headed to President Joe Biden’s desk for signature, will boost shares of industrial, material and other sectors.
Shares of Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) fell after CEO Elon Musk’s weekend Twitter (NYSE:) poll asking followers if he should sell 10% of his holdings. The majority of followers voted for Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) by 58%-42%.
The U.S. officially opened its borders Monday to foreign travelers. This was subject to some rules regarding testing and vaccination.
Chip stocks also saw a boost. Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:) jumped nearly 10% following the decision by Facebook parent Meta to be its supplier for data center chips.
Congress will likely take up $1.85 trillion of social spending and climate bill bills next week. They hope to have it up for a vote by the end the month. The calendar is packed with items lawmakers must clear before next year ends, which includes the return to the Debt Ceiling debate in the early part of next month.

1. Earnings from Nio
According to analysts tracked on Investing.com, Nio Inc Class-A ADR (NYSE.) will report a loss of 34c per share for revenue of $9.24billion in the third quarter.
2. Earnings at Coinbase
Coinbase Global Inc (NASDAQ) reported a profit per share in the third quarter of $1.73, and revenue of $1.57 Billion for its fourth quarter.
3. Earnings from BioNTech
BioNTech SE (NASDAQ:)’s third-quarter revenue is seen at $5.1 billion and profit per share at $10.54.
