To provide an unparalleled experience to investors and users around the globe, the crypto community continues to innovate its technology. Cronos (the Virtual Machine chain, or EVM) running parallel to Crypto.org Chain is currently operating its beta mainnet. Cronos’ mainnet, which is expected to bring the Crypto.com ecosystem up to par, will be detailed.
EVM support is a key feature of Cronos’ beta mainnet. This allows developers to seamlessly port smart contracts to Cronos from Ethereum or EVM-compatible chains. The Cosmos SDK has IBC support and is the latest version. This allows Cronos to provide the best features and updates from the Cosmos SDK.
Last but not the least, the Bridge — this feature provides users the ability to bridge selected tokens from the Crypto.com App and Exchange by simply selecting Cronos network when deposit and withdrawal, and from Crypto.org chain to Cronos via IBC channel.
To bring Cronos up to the next level of its technology, the network has partnered with several other cryptocurrency technologies. This technology includes some of the most well-known crypto names, including Chainlink, Trust Wallet and Duelist King as well as Gem Studio Covalent (Alchemy) and Etherscan.
The Cronos ecosystem received $1 million in funding from Particle B, its blockchain accelerator partner. The Cronos development team receives this fund if they commit to developing applications and tooling on Cronos.
Furthermore, Cronos pledged to improve the network infrastructure until the launch of the mainnet. Crypto.com, the native token to Cronos, was trading at $.40/crypto as of writing.
