(Reuters) – A crush of fans pushing toward the stage while rap star Travis Scott performed at a Houston-area music festival last week has left eight people dead https://www.reuters.com/world/us/investigations-widen-into-deadly-stampede-houston-rap-concert-2021-11-07 and hundreds injured.

Below are profiles for seven of eight victims.

DANISH BAIG

Baig’s final heroic actions are remembered by his brother on Facebook (NASDAQ.) He said Baig died to save his fiancée from being crushed.

Danish Baig was an amazing soul. His bright smile could lighten up any room. He put others before him. Last night he showed his courageous act to save my sister in law/his fiancé from those horrendous things that were being done. It has been a terrible experience that left me frustrated and speechless. I was there and I wasn’t able to save my brother,” Basil Mirza Baig wrote on Facebook.

Danish and his fiance, Olivia Swingle, 25, both worked at AT&T Inc (NYSE:), his family told People.com. Danish was 27, who was the district manager of the company and traveled to Dallas for the concert as a baby. His family moved from Karachi (Pakistan) to Texas when Danish was just a baby.

Basil Baig informed reporters that Travis Scott, Live Nation Entertainment, (NYSE:) Inc, and anyone else associated with Astroworld Festival should all be held liable. They are liable for all the blood they have.

JACOB JURINEK

A college junior at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Jurinek was remembered as “a creative, intelligent young man, with a promising career in journalism and advertising,” the school’s chancellor, Austin Lane, said in a statement.

A school spokeswoman stated that Jurinek had been on the dean’s listing this semester. He was a journalism major with a focus on radio, TV and digital media.

Jurinek lived near Chicago in Naperville (IL), about 30 mi (48 km). After the death in 2011 of his mother, the 20-year-old student at college spent many weekends with him father, according to New York Times.

FRANCO PATINO

Patino (21), is another Naperville native. At the University of Dayton where he studied mechanical engineering technology, he attended. He joined Alpha Psi Lambda (a Hispanic interest fraternity) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.

AXEL ACOSTA

Buzbee Law Firm in Houston said that Acosta, 21 years old, died from the crush. Lawyers said that Acosta’s family will sue several defendants in relation to the Astroworld festival. Acosta was originally from Tieton in Washington and was a student at Western Washington University, Bellingham. The New York Times reports that he was studying computer sciences.

JOHN HILGERT

Hilgert (14 years old) was the youngest to die. Green ribbons were placed on Hilgert’s Houston-area Memorial High School campus. Hilgert is a former freshman. According to KHOU, local TV station.

He was an avid player of baseball and is known for his “unforgettable smiling” and his determination to perform his best “everyday, every game, ever pitch,” Jordan Venable (director of a traveling baseball club) wrote on Facebook.

BRIANNA RODRIGUEZ

Rodriguez was 16-year old and a student at Heights High School Houston. She loved dancing, the Twitter account of Rodriguez (NYSE:) stated. Rodriguez’s family created an online fundraiser in order to pay funeral expenses.

RODOLFO ‘RUDY’ PENA

Pena (23), of Laredo Texas was the youngest of his five siblings. His eldest sister said that Pena was always smiling. His family said that Pena, a former high school football star, was currently studying criminalology at Laredo College, Laredo Texas. He hoped to one day work in U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
