U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.29% -Breaking

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index climbed 0.24%, the index climbed 0.16% and the NYSE closed with a gain of 0.29%.

These were the best performers of the session Caterpillar Inc (NYSE 🙂 rose 4.12%, or 8.49 points, to trade at 214.37 by the close. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated, (NYSE:), gained 1.67% (7.60 points) to reach 463.41. Visa Inc Late trade saw Class A (NYSE 🙂 rise 1.65%, or 3.57 points, to 220.24

They were also the worst performers of the session. Nike Inc (NYSE :), fell 3.06% or 5,43 points to trade at 172.18, at the closing. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) fell 1.20%, or 2.57 points, to finish at 211.20 Coca-Cola Co (NYSE: ) dropped 0.98% (0.56 points) to 56.28

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Coty Inc (NYSE:) which rose 13.94% to 10.585, Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 11.05% to settle at 151.41 and Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:) which gained 6.99% to close at 39.63.

These were the worst performers Kimco Realty Corporation (NYSE.) was down 4.58% at 23.23 in late trading. The AES Corporation, (NYSE.) lost 4.54% and settled at 23.86. Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:) was at its lowest point of 3.79%, closing at 127.53

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite Pioneer Pow (NASDAQ:) The stock rose 194.15% up to 9.560 TDH Holdings Inc (NASDAQ) was up 76.55% and settled at 6.850. CBAK Energy Technology Inc, (NASDAQ) gained 55.12% to close the deal at 3.335.

These were the worst performers CN Energy Group Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 56.13% to 5.80 in late trading eHealth Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 25.17% to close at 30.23, and Ontrak Inc(NASDAQ :), which dropped 23.14% to close at 9.

On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1746, 1491, and 125. Neither ended unchanged on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. 1990 saw a rise and 1673 fell, and 161 was unchanged on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

Coty Inc’s shares rose to 52 week highs (NYSE:), rising 13.94%, or 1.295 to 10.585. Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares rose 11.05% to new all-time highs. This is an increase of 15.07 to 151.41. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated shares rose to record highs. They rose by 1.67%, or 7.60 to 463.41. TDH Holdings Inc. shares (NASDAQ) reached new 3-years records; they rose 76.55%, or 2.970 to 6850. Shares in eHealth Inc. (NASDAQ) dropped to 3-years lowest levels; dropping 25.17%, 10.17, and 30.23.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 4.19% to 17.17.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was higher by 0.59%, or 10.70, to $1827.50 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for December delivery rose by 1.03%, or 0.84, to $82.11 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract rose 0.87, or 1.05%, to $83.61 per barrel.

EUR/USD rose 0.9% to 1.1588 while USD/JPY dropped 0.12% to 113.24.

At 94.040, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.29%.
