Mercado, a Brazilian cryptocurrency exchange was announced to Reuters News Thursday morning. It has reached an agreement to create renewable energy tokens with Comerc (one of Brazil’s main retailers for energy). Mercado Bitcoin is looking to develop two types tokens with Comerc.

First, which will launch in 2022 and be linked to a solar power generation cashback program, is the first. Comerc customers can receive cashbacks of up to 15%-20% on their electricity bills, if they switch to solar power. Certificates that prove energy use from renewable sources will link the second token to this token.
