DETROIT, Reuters – Nvidia (NASDAQ 🙂 has launched new technology in an effort to increase its presence in the automotive sector. This includes a virtual driver assistant that can park a car standard and a system for speeding up training autonomous cars.

Nvidia’s Chief Executive Jensen Huang announced that the company would offer a service called Drive Concierge to automakers as part of its fall product launch. Nvidia’s hardware and artificial intelligence software combine to offer a wide range of services. One example is an autonomous driving function, which allows the human-driven vehicle in a parking spot to drive itself.

A system known as “Omniverse Replicator”, another extension to the Omniverse strategy, will streamline and accelerate the process of creating a virtual environment for training autonomous vehicles.

Nvidia, the biggest manufacturer of artificial intelligence chips and graphics in the world, has been trying for years for technology to be expanded into the automotive industry.

Nvidia wants to take advantage of the fierce competition between automakers and develop cars that drive themselves, as well as provide sophisticated entertainment and information for the people onboard.

This company is working on putting high-powered software and chips into cars. It also offers technology that creates a detailed virtual factory for manufacturers to reduce costs in building new plants.

According to Danny Shapiro (Nvidia vice president for automotive), Nvidia has now booked $8 billion in auto revenue over the next six-years, which includes business from robotaxi companies.

Numerous automakers offer this service, which includes Daimler AG (DE:) has partnered with Nvidia in order to catch Tesla (NASDAQ) Inc) up on software-driven features.

Mercedes and Nvidia signed a partnership with each other in June 2020. The new Mercedes vehicle generation will be built using Nvidia Drive Orin AGX technology. This platform is designed for autonomous driving. It is anticipated that the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle will be launched in 2024.
