- This mobile wallet will feature full Solana functionality.
- The app will be accessible for download via the App Store as well as Play Store.
SolFlare is a digital wallet for Solana that’s not custodial and has just released a mobile edition of its dApp-enabled, prominent wallet. The mobile version of SolFlare’s dApp-enabled wallet will become the first Solana Mobile wallet with all Solana functions.
In detail, in SolFlare’s browser-based iteration, it is now considered as one of the most popular digital wallets for SOL. In fact, it is servicing staking for 22% of circulating SOL — which is worth over $16 billion. The unique aspect of the platform is its ability view, stake and even send audio non-fungible tokens. This function will be integrated into the SolFlare Mobile Wallet in a similar manner.
SolFlare, a community-built wallet, aims for an improved user experience. The team notes that it plans to offer a simple and smooth mechanism like the one provided on desktop — wherein all Solana dApps can be easily accessed. The mobile app will be able to demonstrate its flexibility.
However, albeit the lack of features available for desktop users, the SolFlare Mobile Wallet app is expected to include hardware wallet integration — WalletConnect, as well as native token swap features.
Co-founder of SolFlare — Filip Dragoslavic, noted,
Our belief is that expanding the Solana ecosystem’s reach to mobile users will make a significant impact on adoption. Mobile-first crypto users continue to grow every year. We think that Solana should be made easy for them.
Mobile wallets with DeFi and NFT support aren’t very common in other countries. Likewise, the existing mobile wallets that support Solana only allow basic token transfers — which sometimes slows down the growth of the entire user base of Solana. In the crypto world, engagement is key. Mobile wallets offering full-featured functionality has been proven to be an important aspect. To exemplify, MetaMask’s users utilize its recently released mobile version.
The SolFlare Mobile wallet can be downloaded from both the App Store and Play Store. It will contain all of the same features as the web version, and the browser extension.
SolFlare Mobile, which will let Solana token holders store, swap, and stake Solana tokens and SPL tokens as well as native SOL tokens, is enough to state the obvious. What’s more, it will allow the users to view and send NFTs directly using their smartphones — eradicating its traditional feature that divides mobile and web versions of a wallet.
