China urges U.S. to stop official interaction with Taiwan -Breaking

[ad_1]

BEIJING, (Reuters) – China’s foreign minister said Wednesday that a U.S. congressional delegation visited Taiwan in violation of the One China policy and demanded that the United States immediately cease all official interactions with Taiwan.

Collaborating with Taiwanese pro-independence groups is an extremely dangerous game, Wang Wenbin (a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign minister) said during a weekly media briefing.

Recent cross-strait tensions are rising. Taiwan complained about China’s repeated air strikes near Taiwan for more than a decade.

China is not afraid to use force against Taiwan, even though Taiwan claims it is independent and will protect its democracy and freedoms.
