MILAN, (Reuters) – Italy’s Industry Minister has asked for a meeting to address the impacts of DAZN’s recent account policy changes on its consumers. This includes concerns about it having broadcasting rights to Serie A soccer matches.

His ministry stated in a statement that the meeting will take place on Tuesday with Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti from Industry.

DAZN, which won the broadcast rights for Italy’s Serie A soccer matches until the end of 2023-2024, was awarded the broadcast rights in March. But, DAZN is now facing complaints over disruptions during matches and the poor quality of streaming.

Italy approved new service standards in response to DAZN’s disruptions.

DAZN stated always that it would cooperate with Italian authorities.
