Ken Langone, a Republican billionaire, says he will host a fundraiser to support Sen. Joe Manchin. This is after President Joe Biden blocked important elements from the agenda.

These comments were made as Democrats in Congress continued to work out key parts of Biden’s economic plans. They included social safety net spending, and climate change plans.

Langone, speaking Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box”, praised Manchin’s courage and guts. He explained that Langone was trying to raise money. Manchin could be reelected in 2024.

“I do not see the country’s leadership. Langone thanked God for Joe Manchin.

He’s special. I will have the largest fundraiser ever. He’s very special. He is precious. He is a great American,” said he. The Center for Responsive Politics reports that Langone never contributed to Manchin’s campaign.

Manchin’s Office did not respond to my request for information on Langones’ statements.
