Stocks in the USA are lower after close of trade. Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 0.6%

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index dropped 1.67% at the close of NYSE.

The best performers of the session on the were Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:), which rose 1.34% or 1.11 points to trade at 83.83 at the close. During the meantime, Visa Inc Class A (NYSE -) was up 1.31% or 2.79 to 215.80 American Express Late trade saw Company (NYSE:), up 1.6%, or 2.08 points, to 181.94.

These were the worst performers of the session. Nike Inc (NYSE.), fell 3.26% to 5.66 point, closing at 168.16. Salesforce.com Inc. declined 3.12% (or 9.65 points) to finish at 300.06. Apple Inc. was down 1.83 or 2.76 points to 148.05.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Ventas Inc (NYSE:), which increased 3.73% at 54.79. Mastercard Inc. (NYSE:), which was up 3.58% to settle at 357.00 Alliance Data Systems Corp (NYSE 🙂 gained 3.37% and closed at 78.13

Perrigo Company PLC, (NYSE:), fell 12.29% to 41.60 late trade. Advanced Micro Devices Inc(NASDAQ:) lost 6.15 to settle at 139.76. Coterra Energy Inc. (NYSE:), was also down 5.85% at 20.11 close.

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite RenovoRx Inc (NASDAQ) rose 49.17% from 8.07 to Nisun International Enterprise Development Group Co Ltd. (NASDAQ) was up 32.73% and settled at 16.87 Unity Biotechnology Inc (NASDAQ:) The stock gained 30.35% and closed at 3.350

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation was the worst performer (NASDAQ :), down 37.50% at 1.050 late trade and Yumanity Therapeutics Inc, which suffered a 35.44% drop to close at 5.47. Anpac Bio Medical Science Co Ltd (NASDAQ:), which fell 32.93% to 1.650 by the end.

New York Stock Exchange: Falling stocks outnumbered advanced ones by 2155 to 1094 and 112. 112 was unchanged. Nasdaq Stock Exchange: 2603 fell, 1124 advanced and 179 were unchanged.

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation’s shares fell by 37.50%, or 0.630 to 1.0050. Yumanity Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:), shares fell by 35.44%, or 3.01 to 5.47, to their 52-week lowest. Anpac Bio Medical Science Co Ltd(NASDAQ:) shares plunged to new lows, falling by 32.93% (0.810 to 1.650).

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.92% to $1847.60 per troy-ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 3.4% or 2.98 to reach $81.17/barrel, and January Brent oil, which fell 2.2% or 2.31 for trade at $82.47/barrel.

EUR/USD fell 0.94% at 1.1481, but USD/JPY was up 0.90% at 113.86.

US Dollar Index Futures were up by 0.98% to 94.873
