Unizen Sets for the First Crypto-Funded (DOGE-1) Mission to the Moon with GEC
  • Unizen partners with GEC in the DOGE-1 mission to the Moon.
  • They will jointly launch the CubeSat-to-Lunar Orbit (with SpaceX)
  • Funded with, the launch agreement was for a space on a Q1 2022 SpaceX Falcon 9 slot.

Unizen is a leader in smart exchange and has announced their partnership with Geometric Energy Corporation. The firms collaborated to support the first crypto-funded mission on the moon for DOGE-1’s construction and launch.

CubeSat, a spacecraft weighing 40kg and equipped with an onboard sensor, will orbit a lunar orbit in order to capture lunar-spatial data. After collecting the data, it will send them back to GEC using its onboard communication module.

Sean Noga, Unizen CEO and ZenX Incubator’s founder, spoke about the partnership.

Geometric Energy Corporation, a highly innovative and ambitious company with a strong belief in the potential of ever-expanding uses cases and an incredible vision for the future is Geometric Energy Corporation. XI Protocol marks a major breakthrough in space infrastructure connectivity to distributed ledger tech. This technology will allow satellite-based space displays (driven by tokenized claims), and unlock the vast potential of Web3 connected data reporting incentives on SATCOM communications networks.

Mr. Noga continues that Unizen is thrilled to both incubate and onboard GEC’s XI Protocol to their strategic partners. It is significant for both parties as this marks the first spacecraft launch entirely funded by cryptocurrency. It is important to note that the entire mission was paid for with Dogecoin and a launch agreement with SpaceX Falcon 9 in Q1 2022 SpaceX Falcon 9.

Tom Ochinero, Vice President of SpaceX says that DOGE-1 will be launched to the Moon. He said that the mission would demonstrate cryptocurrency’s use beyond Earth orbit. He also stated that interplanetary commerce will be possible because of this mission.

Leveraging a unique crypto use case, and advancing the field of space exploration, GEC’s incubation at ZenX Labs is the first-of-its-kind example of a scientific and tech team working together. The mission also shows how cryptocurrency can serve as an efficient, secure, and transparent form of financing for all types of projects.

Samuel Reid, CEO of GEC, also spoke out about the partnership. He asserted that “Geometric Energy Corporation is proud to partner with Unizen for pushing the boundaries of distributed ledger technology in space and grateful for their ongoing collaboration to help bring us to the moon!”

If launched in Q1-2022, the DOGE-1 mission will set many new records. First, this mission will mark the first time 250,000-miles missions to the moon. Moreover, over 1,600 CubeSats previously launched were between 100 – 1,200 miles above the Earth’s surface. To clarify, NASA’s CAPSTONE was supposed to be the first CubeSat to reach the moon. However, the launch was delayed several times and is now expected to take place in March 2022.
