Cortexyme Stock Falls After Presenting More Data From Alzheimer’s Trial -Breaking

Investing.com — Cortexyme Inc (NASDAQ: stocks are down Thursday after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company released additional phase 2/3 data from the trial of its Alzheimer’s drug atuzaginstat.

October saw the announcement by the company that statistical significance was not achieved in the co-primary endpoints of the study.

It told investors that today it had “clinically significant” effects. 

In addition, the researchers stated that they had made “significant advancements in Alzheimer’s disease research by clinically verifying that this trial was valid.” P. gingivalis is a key upstream driver of disease progression. Furthermore, data showed that there was a strong risk-benefit ratio with a clinically relevant treatment response in a patient population easily identified.

Cortexyme CEO Casey Lynch and Co-Founder said that the study met many of its objectives. This included the identification of the right population to treat and the recommended therapeutic dose. As soon as we have discussions with FDA officials and the global regulators, we will apply what has been learned to move forward with an anticipated confirmatory trial.

Shares are now down more than 11% at $13.90
