Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index lost 0.80% at the NSE close, and fell by 0.72%.

Titan Company Ltd., which gained 1.75% (or 43.50 points) to trade at 2528.10 close at the closing, were the top performers. In the meantime Hindalco Industries Ltd. JSW Steel Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 0.63%, or 4.15 points, to 666.55

They were also the worst performers of the session. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS-), fell 4.41% to trade at 133.30 after the close. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS) fell 2.85%, or 44.65 point to close at 1521.95. State Bank Of India was down 2.82% (or 14.80 points) to 509.60.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which rose 1.79% to 2528.00, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was up 0.57% to settle at 924.90 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) which gained 0.22% to close at 2554.95.

State Bank Of India, (BO) was the worst performer with a drop of 2.83% at 509.55 in late trading. Bajaj Finserv Ltd was also down at 2.42% at 17872.05 while Tech Mahindra Ltd was at 2.26% at 1524.95 at close.

By 1071 to 681 on the India National Stock Exchange and 49 on the Bombay Stock Exchange respectively, declining stocks outnumbered ascending ones by 1071 and 481, while 49 ended unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange 1788 declined and 1408 advanced, while only 150 finished unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was up 0.2% to 16.3525.

For December delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.84% to $1863.90 per troy an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell by 0.07 percent to reach $81.27/barrel, and January Brent oil, which fell by 0.01 percent to trade at $82.63/barrel.

USD/INR rose 0.12% to 74.484 while EUR/INR dropped 0.00% at 85.3925.

At 95.032, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.20%.
