BRUNSWICK GA (Reuters) – A juror was shown footage of Ahmaud Albery wandering about a vacant lot during an earlier visit to the mostly-white southern Georgia area where he was captured by white men and later shot.

Gregory McMichael (65); Travis McMichael (55); and William “Roddie Bryan (52) have pleaded not guilty. If they are convicted of murder, they could spend their entire lives in prison.

According to the men, they believed Arbery was fleeing from a crime as he fled through Satilla Shores (NYSE:) in February 2020. The men pursued Arbery in pickup trucks for several more minutes, before McMichael pulled out a shotgun to fire as Arbery ran towards him. The lawyers of the two men claim that this was self defense.

These are the most important moments of testimony at Glynn County Superior Court’s fifth day.

LARRY ENGLISH – OWNER OF VACANT PROPERTY VISITED ABY ARBERY

Larry English stated that he had been building slowly a Satilla Shores house, and this would eventually lead to Arbery being killed.

His dream was to own a home on the water. He was aware that children from nearby neighborhoods roamed the land, so he set up surveillance cameras and sent the videos to his mobile phone.

A video of Arbery on the dock in the night of October 2019 was shown, as well as a recording from the 911 call English.

English stated to the operator that “I got an trespasser” and said he could see a “colored” man with tattoos on both his arms and curly locks. This person may have been either drunk or drugged as he “plundering around” at the property.

English testified that English decided quickly that it was likely that the man had not been intoxicated, but that he was still moving slowly in darkness and in a strange way on night-vision video.

English claimed that no photos were taken on that evening. English also showed a November clip that featured a white man and woman wandering around the property at night. He also recorded the 911 call English made in order to report the incident.

English shared clips of Arbery’s behavior with his neighbors. McMichaels claimed they knew of the reports that a Black man was roaming on the English property at the time Arbery ran past their driveway, February 23, 2020.

English, through an attorney, also claimed that Arbery stopped at his property’s faucet for water.
