(Reuters) – Kellogg (NYSE) Co stated that on Thursday, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union refused to allow a vote for a new contract. This was in response to a lengthy strike by about 1,400 workers at its four cereal plant.

Froot Loops, a cereal manufacturer, had changed its offer. It was due to expire at midnight on Thursday.

According to the company, operations will continue at four plants employing hourly or salaried workers and using third-party resources that produce food.
