WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee will hold a confirmation hearing on Nov. 17, for Jessica Rosenworcel to be appointed as the new Federal Communications Commission Chair. However, it won’t immediately proceed with a hearing of another nominee. Officials told Reuters.
Biden named Rosenworcel as chair of the commission’s five-member board and nominated her for another term late last month. Biden nominated Gigi, a former top aide of Tom Wheeler and who was an FCC chair under President Barack Obama. Sohn’s nomination will not be heard by the Commerce Committee immediately.
At the Nov. 17 hearing, the committee will consider Alvaro Bedoya’s nomination to the Federal Trade Commission.
