U.S. stocks mixed at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.37% -Breaking

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close at NYSE the index declined by 0.37% while it gained 0.11%. The index also added 0.54%.

Dow Inc (NYSE ) rose 1.85%, or 1.09 points, to trade at 59.85 by the closing. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc -NASDAQ:) gained 1.76%, or 0.86 points, to close at 49.83. Salesforce.com Inc -NYSE: was up 1.14% (or 3.43 points) to 303.10.

Walt was the worst performer of the session. Disney The stock of Company (NYSE:) fell 6.98%, or 12.18 points, to close at 162.27. Visa Inc Klas A (NYSE.) lost 2.32% (or 5.01 points) to close at 210.55. Honeywell International Inc. (NASDAQ.) dropped 1.98% (or 4.47 point) to 220.94.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:) which rose 9.34% to 41.02, Tapestry Inc (NYSE:) which was up 8.89% to settle at 46.40 and Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:) which gained 7.44% to close at 106.39.

Walt Disney Company (NYSE :), which fell 6.98% to 162.27 late trade in the worst performing stocks Cooper Companies Inc (NYSE 🙂 lost 4.97% and settled at 412.54, while Edwards Lifesciences Corp was at 412.54 (NYSE 🙂 with a loss of 3.55%. The close saw Edwards Lifesciences Corp at 114.55.

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite Nuzee Inc (NASDAQ) rose by 151.74%, to 5.060 Root Inc (NASDAQ:) The stock was up by 32.98% and settled at 6.21 Sommer Infant Inc (NASDAQ:), which saw a 28.05% increase to reach 10.50.

Nisun International Enterprise Development Group Co Ltd was the worst performer (NASDAQ:), down 40.93% at 9.54 in late trading, Titan Medical Inc(NASDAQ:), losing 25.15% and settling at 1.2200. Huadi International Group Co Ltd (NASDAQ :), which fell 24.57% to 21,120 by the end.

The New York Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 1897 to 327. 110 was unchanged, but 2106 rose while 1547 fell on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. 160 ended the same.

Seagate Technology PLC shares rose 7.44%, or 7.37 to 106.39.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 5.93% to 17.62.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was up by 0.86%, or 15.95, to $1864.25 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.12 percent to $81.22 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract dropped 0.07 percent to $82.58 per barrel.

EUR/USD dropped 0.25 points to 1.1449. USD/JPY climbed 0.144% to 114.06.

At 95.153, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.33%.
