LOS ANGELES (Reuters), Britney Spears could be released as soon as Friday from a conservatorship she called abusive and humiliating if a Los Angeles court rules in her favor. The 13-year-old legal agreement was terminated by the judge.

The singer of “Piece of Me”, 39, asked for the end of the conservatorship, which she has used to manage her $60 million estate and personal life since 2008.

After she suffered a public crisis and was treated for unspecified mental issues, her father set up the arrangement and managed it.

Spears revealed years of personal anguish through tearful testimony. Since then, there has been a lot of support from the public and he has hired a new attorney who is working aggressively for lifting restrictions.

Brenda Penny, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge is set to review the request and make a decision at Friday’s public hearing. The request is supported by all those who are involved in conservatorship.

“This week is going to be extremely interesting for me!” Spears shared this on Instagram last week. Spears wrote, “I haven’t prayed for anything more in my life!”

However, it is unknown if she will be present at the court or speak via voice as she sometimes has in the past.

The key question here is whether Penny would require Spears to have a mental evaluation. This step can often be taken prior to ending a conservatorship. According to the singer, she wants to be released immediately without having to undergo a new mental health assessment.

Spears stated to the court that she was traumatized, and needed her “lifeback” soon. Spears claimed she was forced to take drugs and work against her will, and that she was not allowed to marry or have her nails and hair done.

Jamie Spears’ father has stated through lawyers that he supported his daughter with her career rehabilitation and always done what was in her best interests.

Unexpectedly, in September, he changed his position on conservatorship. He stated he was supporting termination as the arrangement had assisted her and was no more needed.

In late September Penny removed Jamie Spears’ conservatorship, claiming that his involvement was “toxic” for the singer’s health. She temporarily replaced him by an accountant.

The case attracted a lot of attention over the last year thanks to documentaries as well as a #FreeBritney movement by supporters who asked why the singer had lived in such restrictions while still touring all around the globe and making millions.

If the landmark ruling is delivered, the fans will celebrate by gathering outside the courthouse, waving pink banners to support the judge.

Spears has been engaged to Sam Asghari, a personal trainer. She stated that she would like to have more children. From her past marriage with Kevin Federline, she has two teenager sons.
