Former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden, who resigned final month after revelations that he had made racist, homophobic and misogynistic feedback, is suing the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“By way of a malicious and orchestrated marketing campaign, the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell sought to destroy the profession and popularity of Jon Gruden, the previous head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” stated the lawsuit filed Thursday in Clark County District Courtroom in Nevada.

The lawsuit additionally alleges that Gruden was “pressured” to resign. 

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy on Friday known as Gruden’s allegations “totally meritless” and stated it “will vigorously defend towards these claims.”

Gruden’s transfer to take authorized motion comes after reports that his emails included a previous racist comment about NFL gamers’ union head DeMaurice Smith, in addition to sexist and homophobic language.
