REUTERS/Androniki ChristodoulouTOKYO (Reuters), – Japan’s economic stimulus package will include measures to mitigate the damage to firms caused by rising prices. A draft of the government package, obtained from Reuters on Friday, showed that.
According to the draft, it will include actions to improve domestic semiconductor production as well as an 87.53 billion yen (10 trillion yen) fund that seeks to provide universities with more funding to support their research.
This draft doesn’t include total spending. That will be determined through negotiations with lawmakers from the ruling party next week.
It is expected that the government will approve and finalize this package by Nov. 19.
