One in three Americans aged 65 and above has got COVID-19 booster shot: CDC -Breaking

(Reuters) – One-third of Americans 65 and over have received a COVID-19 boost shot according to data released Friday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As of Friday morning, the country had distributed 551,705 COVID-19 doses and administered 437,352,000 COVID-19 doses.

These numbers are higher than the 434,486,889 doses of vaccine that the CDC reported had been administered by Nov. 10, out of 541,361,525 total doses.

According to the agency, 225 606,197 individuals had had at least one dose and 194,747 8,839 had had their entire vaccinations as of 6:59 a.m. ET Friday

The CDC tally also includes vaccines of two doses Moderna (NASDAQ:) and Pfizer/BioNTech,, as well as Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:)’s one-shot vaccine.

A booster dose has been given to approximately 27.7 millions people Pfizer (NYSE:), Moderna or Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine. Booster doses from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson were authorized by the U.S. health regulator on Oct. 20.

Nearly 16 million older people had been given a third dose.
