Tips to nail your resume, impress hiring manager

It is important to create a resume that attracts recruiters. Lindsay Mustain is an ex-Amazon recruiter who wrote “7 Critical Resume Mistakes to Avoid”.

Mustain’s independent survey found that the vast majority of applicants spend between 20- 40 hours creating their resumes.

In the beginning stages of a job search, recruiters spend six seconds reviewing each applicant’s resume. Mustain said that it’s “more like four.” CNBC Make It

She shared three suggestions for optimizing resumes to ensure they are clear and appealing for potential recruiters.

1. Format

Format is essential for any resume and should be considered before content.

“Why? “Why?” she asked.

Mustain suggests that you think minimalist. Employers will be able to scan your resume quickly and easily find what they are looking for.

2. The Content

The next thing to do is highlight the scope and impact of your resume. Scope describes the tasks you are familiar with, and impact is why.

Mustain explained, “If your goal is to become the candidate of choice,” That is the distinction between a commodity and a candidate for selection.

This should typically be summarized as a value proposition (or executive summary) at the top. This information can be expanded on later in the experience section.

You can have more than one job in any organization, no matter what it is. You either save money or you make money — and maybe you do both,” said Mustain. The secret to success is being able to clearly articulate that and then show it by demonstrating the results of your past work, and what they have done.
