GLASGOW, (Reuters) – U.S. climate envoy John Kerry urged the United Nations climate summit to keep the language on mitigation unchanged and end fossil fuel subsidies. He also urged the UN climate summit to promote adaptation finance.

We are strong supporters of adaptation finance. We will accept the double approach in the spirit of compromise. However, Kerry said that there were a few important changes to the text which make it stronger, easier to understand, and more efficient.

It doesn’t make any sense to restrict where money can be brought from.
