(Reuters] – U.S. Treasury secretary Janet Yellen claimed on Friday that participation in the labor market was at a “quite low” level compared with pre-pandemic levels.
“When (COVID-19 pandemic) is under control, then I believe labor supply will return to normal,” Yellen said in an interview with CBS’ Face the Nation on Friday.
Yellen stated that there are many reasons why the supply of labor is “abnormally low,” including a lack of educators and childcare workers, which causes “clustering problems.”
