BMW and Audi interested in buying McLaren Automotive

BERLIN (Reuters). BERLIN (DE: Volkswagen) and BMW (DE) are both interested in purchasing McLaren Automotive, a British luxury sportscar manufacturer, German automobiles magazine Automobilwoche reported Sunday. It did not specify its source. According to reports, BMW and Mumtalakat from Bahrain, which is 42% owner of McLaren Automotive, will hold their first meetings at the beginning December.

Audi also expressed interest in Formula 1 as a division, the statement said.

BMW and Audi weren’t immediately available to comment.
