FRANKFURT. (Reuters.) – The central bankers have to make a change in their approach to stop inflation. Deutsche Bank Christian Sewing, Chief Executive Officer of the Company was quoted as saying Monday.

Sewing said at a bank conference that he disagreed with central bankers’ view of inflation increases as temporary.

Sewing stated, “I believe monetary policy should take countermeasures there – and sooner than later.”

He stated that the “predicted panacea for recent years, low interest rates and seemingly stable prices, has lost its effectiveness” and was now struggling to deal with the side effects.
