Metaverse is investable and it’s going to be very big

Orlando Bravo, Puerto Rican billionaire businessman and investor says that the metaverse is an attractive investment opportunity.

Bravo is co-founder of Thoma Bravo and managing partner at the private equity company.

Bravo stated that it was investable, and would be very large in an interview on Friday with Annette Weisbach of CNBC.

Metaverse refers to a science-fiction concept in which humans can wear smart glasses, or headsets, that will allow them access to a virtual reality where they live, work and play. It is similar in nature and style as the world depicted in the movie and novel “Ready Player One.” It can be either utopian or dystopian depending on how you view it.

By this month, metaverse has been in the limelight. FacebookMark Zuckerberg was co-founder of Facebook when he changed Facebook’s name to Metahe said that the company would be focusing on the metaverse.

He said that the metaverse was the next frontier, just as social networking was back when it started. 

The announcement was mockedIn a video published last week by Inspired by IcelandThe Icelandic Tourism Marketing Campaign, The video features a Zuckerberg-like Zuckerberg introducing viewers to the “Icelandverse,” which is a “enhanced real reality” without using silly-looking headsets.

There are many other businesses, including Microsoft, Roblox, NvidiaBritain’s Improbable and Britain’s Improbable have already begun to develop the hardware and software that will power the metaverse.

Thoma Bravo manages more than $83 billion of assets and has a portfolio that includes over 40 software companies. It is a shareholder in McAfee Security and Barracuda as well as Enterprise Software firm Dynatrace.

Bravo has a large amount of crypto assets and is bullish about the metaverse.

“It’s impossible to not love crypto,” Bravo said. Bravo stated this at CNBC’s Delivering Alpha conference in September. Crypto just seems like a fantastic system. It’s frictionless. It’s decentralized. The young want to have their own financial system. This is why it will be around for the foreseeable future.
