Redwire to Provide Navigation Components for NASA Asteroid Mission -Breaking

Investing.com — Redwire Corp (NYSE : stock jumped Tuesday after revealing that it will provide critical navigation components and roll-out solar array technology for NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission.
This mission is expected to be launched no later than November 23rd from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. It’s described as “the world’s first planetary defence test mission.”
Redwire shares surged to an all-time high of $12.15 upon the announcement. But they quickly recovered and now are down 2% to $10.27.
In a contract with John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, the company already has two Roll-Out Solar Arrays. According to Redwire the arrays will be used for powering the whole spacecraft. Each one features the Flexible Array Concentrator Technology solar Power Modules.
Redwire’s president Andrew Rush said, “As an important mission partner, our innovative, flight-proven tech is enabling truly game-changing missions like DART that expand our understanding of our solar system and usher in an exciting new age of exploration.”
It aims to modify the spacecraft’s trajectory. Redwire reported that the DART spacecraft will fly millions of miles to an asteroids, and then crash into its moonlet in order to alter its speed.
Redwire claims that ROSA technology, which is modular and compact, can be used on a variety of spaceflight platforms.
