MELBOURNE, (Reuters) – Chevron Corp (NYSE) shut down one of its three processing units (called trains) at Gorgon Liquid (LNG), in Western Australia, after discovering a small gas leak Tuesday. A spokesperson confirmed this on Wednesday.

A small gas leak caused Train 1 to be shut down, the spokesperson explained. It was not possible to predict how long it would remain down. “We have plans in place for investigations and repairs.”

He said that the leak was discovered in the piping of the Train 1 dehydration unit. The unit was then shut down to prevent future damage.

Chevron owns 47% of 15.6 Million Tonnes a Year Gorgon LNG Project.

It is owned by both Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:), Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LON:), and Japanese utilities Osaka Gas (Tokyo Gas) and JERA.
