Denmark’s Novo Nordisk to buy Dicerna Pharma for $3.3 billion -Breaking

(Reuters] -Danish pharmaceutical maker Novo Nordisk (NYSE 🙂 will acquire Dicerna Pharmaceuticals Inc. for $3.3 Billion in cash, the U.S. drugs developer stated on Thursday.

A deal of $38.25 per Share represents an increase in value by 79.7% compared to Wednesday’s close price at Dicerna.

Since 2019, the two companies have collaborated in research to create multiple clinical candidates for various disorders, including type 2 diabetes (NASH), chronic liver disease and non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis(NASH), obesity, rare diseases, and type 2 diabetes.

Novo Nordisk plans to begin clinical development for the first investigational drug to be developed in this partnership by 2022.
